Minecraft Rapture
I'm very excited that this video is finally being released. This whole thing started about a year and a half ago at this point. I had just moved down to Texas and was bored while my friends and roommates were at work so I started building in Minecraft and decided on the biggest build I've ever done.
If you're a long time fan you'll remember this video from May of 2013 showing Columbia from Bioshock Infinite. In my crazy ambition I decided it would be awesome to start with a flat world, build Rapture and flood it, then build Columbia above it. I probably won't ever get that far, but who knows. I always do venture back to Minecraft eventually.
I've spent a lot of time playing Bioshock over the years because it is easily my favorite game, but it wasn't until I had to build it myself in block form that I really noticed a lot of small details nearly everyone misses as they run through the halls shooting bees at splicers.
This build has taken me nearly a year, (on and off, of course) to complete and I thought the best way to showcase it was with some Let's Plays of Bioshock themed games (links in the video). You can't really get the full appreciation for it all in just the random flashes you see as our Minecraft guys run past, so here's a nice comparison video. Enjoy it and share it with everyone you know and love. Make those long hours of building and people staring at me and questioning how I could ever possibly have fun doing this worth it.
End of line.
